Chennai: SGT India, a knowledge process innovation and management services provider, said on 1 August it will open its fourth centre in India at Bangalore by the end of this year as part of its expansion plans.
The company would recruit over 500 professionals in the current fiscal to meet its client requirements, in addition to the existing 500 worldwide, said SGT chief executive officer Kumar Bashyam.
He said the company had invested over $4 million (Rs16 crore) in India and is planning to invest another $8 million in scaling up the Indian operations.
The company had registered an impressive growth of over 250% during the last fiscal and with the addition of 100,000 square feet from their forthcoming centres at Chennai and Bangalore, the company is confident of maintaining a strong growth pace in the coming years.
He said the company had recently entered into an agreement to provide engineering services to Mines and Metals and Engineering. SGT would provide detailed engineering services for MME’s proprietary process technology for direct reduction of iron ore plants.
Louis Hendriks, executive partner-Europe, SGT India said engineering process services contributed most to the company’s revenue growth. Selection of MME as their India-leveraged engineering design partner for complex steel projects was a defining moment for SGT, he said, adding that MME would accelerate growth of their business in Europe.
